Obituary for Ymmaculla Charles

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Ymmaculla Charles, who left us on Friday, April 25th at the age of 82.

Ymmaculla Charles was born on October 24, 1942, in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She lived a life full of love, kindness, and quiet strength, touching the lives of everyone she met. Throughout her life, she was known for her no-nonsense candidness, love for her family and friends, and impeccable skills in cooking. The 5am prayer line was never missed by Ymmaculla. She was one of the most influential, independent and Godfearing matriarchs around.

She is survived by her children: Mrs. Claudine D. Roberts and spouse, Charles Roberts, Mr. Luc Clerveaux and spouse Yolande Toni, Mrs. Marie Esther Clerveaux and spouse, Billy Sanon and Mr. Junot Clerveaux; brother and sisters: Mrs. Maude Renard (widow), Mr. Ronald Charles and Mrs. Marie Renard Nicolas (widow); grandchildren Mr. Marc Elder Roy, spouse, and children, Mrs. Marie Lucette Roy and children, Mrs. Claudmay Roy-François, spouse, and children, Mrs. Wilnarah Roy-Benzan, spouse, and children, Mr. Jean-Claude Roy and child, Mr. Jerry Pierre, spouse, and children, Mrs. Kendra Pierre, spouse, and child, Ms. Johanne Délice, Mr. Junior Nelson Jean-Charles, spouse, and children, Mr. Achilien P.
