Obituary for William Sweeney

William “Bill” J. Sweeney, 80, of Milton passed away on March 14, 2023, after a long and hard-fought battle with cancer. He had the love and support of family and friends during his illness. Bill worked for the MBTA for 30 years and was a friend of Bill W. for 46 years. Beloved husband of Judith Teed Sweeney. Loving father of Patrick Sweeney and his wife Joanne of Dedham and his daughter Lynne Sweeney Anderson and her husband Scott of Jamaica Plain. Bill was the cherished grandfather of Davin and Ashlyn Sweeney, Mackenzie, Eoin and Liam Baker, and Grace and Katharine Baker. Brother of Patricia Walsh of W. Roxbury, and uncle of Patricia Huska of W. Roxbury and Marybeth Chung of Wellesley. Bill was the stepfather to Hans Baker and his wife Kelly of Milton and Christian Baker of South Yarmouth. A Funeral Service will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Monday March 20 at 6:00 PM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours prior to the service from 4-6 PM. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Dr. Larry Blaszkowsky, MGH Cancer Center at Newton Wellesley Hospital.
