Obituary for William Michael Clasby

With profound sorrow and a deep sense of loss, we announce the passing of William Michael Clasby on December 4, 2024, at the age of 59. He departed this world at Gordon Hospice House in Mooresville, North Carolina, surrounded by the love and presence of his family.

William's journey began in Boston, Massachusetts, where he was lovingly adopted through Catholic Charities by Mary Theresa Clasby and Paul Francis Clasby who he joined. His upbringing was steeped in the values of faith and family, with his father serving as his greatest role model and spiritual guide. These early influences shaped William's life, instilling in him that his belief in a higher power was unwavering, and he lived his life with the assurance that he was part of a greater plan. In his passing, we find comfort in the knowledge that he is now at peace, embraced by the eternal love of God.

William is survived by his cherished children: Aryanna Michele Clasby, William Paul Clasby. Along with Christopher Allan Clasby, and Anthony Michael Clasby. He also leaves behind Michele Ann Clasby, Paula Clasby, and Winston Kokaram

In his later years, William found companionship with his significant other April Wood, and her sons, Whalen, Glenn, Danny, Billy along with two grandchildren, Trace and Wynonah who affectionately called him "Grampa Bill," also mourn his loss.

Throughout his life, William lived in various places in Massachusetts, including Quincy, Dorchester, North Attleboro, Blackstone, and Martha’s Vineyard, before spending his final years in Statesville, North Carolina. He graduated from Archbishop Williams High School in 1983 and pursued his passion for culinary arts, earning a degree from Quincy Junior College.

William's career was marked by his entrepreneurial spirit as a business owner and his dedication as a trucking owner and operator. However, his deepest passion was cooking, a love he shared with all who knew him. Cooking was not just a profession for him; it was a way to express love and bring people together. His meals reflected his generous spirit, always prepared with care, and shared with joy.

Known for his selflessness, William was always ready to help others, especially his family, whom he supported unconditionally. His presence was a constant source of comfort, respect, and strength.

William's life, a time to share stories and a moment to reflect on the impact he had on all who knew him.

William Michael Clasby will be dearly missed, but his spirit will live on in the hearts of those he touched. His life was a testament to the power of love, faith, and family, and his legacy will continue to inspire and guide us. As we bid farewell to a beloved father, partner, and friend, we hold onto the promise of eternal life and the hope of a joyous reunion in the eternal home. May he rest in peace, cradled in the arms of the Lord.

Paula, I am very sorry to hear of Billy's passing. Though he was 8 years older than I, I remember fondly growing up across the street from both Billy and your self; as well as your parents.
