Obituary for Wilfred G. Pierre, Jr.
Wilfred Gabriel Pierre Jr., lovingly known as Will or Willie, was born on May 1, 1992, in Boston, Massachusetts, to Wilfrid and Janet Pierre. Will loved his parents deeply, and as their only child, he remains an infinite representation of their love and connection.
Will was a beloved brother to Starr Pierre, and the bond they shared held a special place in his life. From the very beginning, Will brought a warmth and light into the lives of those around him. He had a way of making people feel seen, welcomed, and valued. His genuine spirit, infectious smile, and kind heart left a lasting impression on everyone blessed to know him.
Will was a cherished grandson of Elizabeth Patterson, nephew, cousin, friend, colleague, and source of light to so many. His kindness extended far beyond those closest to him because Will had a gift for making people feel like they mattered.
Will attended Jeremiah E. Burke High School before continuing his education at Benjamin Franklin Technical Institute. Throughout his school years, Will enjoyed athletics, playing both football and baseball and proudly wearing number 55 on the football field. His love of sports remained a lifelong passion. He was an avid New England Patriots fan and a devoted supporter of New England sports, always ready to cheer and bet on his favorite teams.
While Will accomplished many things in his life, his greatest impact came from the way he treated people. He was compassionate, loyal, funny, and full of love. Will had a rare ability to connect with people from all walks of life. He did not simply pass by people—he took the time to know them, listen to them, and remind them of their worth.
That compassion was reflected in his life's work. Through his service at Boston Medical Center and the Boston Public Health Commission, Will dedicated himself to caring for some of the most vulnerable members of this community. He worked tirelessly to support people with Substance Use Disorders, experiencing homelessness, critically ill, and those experiencing poverty and hardship. Will believed every person deserved dignity, compassion, care, and a good laugh. Serving those who were often forgotten by society was not just his profession—it was a reflection of his heart and who he was.
Above all else, Will was a family man. He was the devoted husband of Patrice Price-Pierre and the proud father of Paighton Joy “PJ” Pierre. His love for his family was immeasurable. Becoming a husband and father brought him immense joy, and he cherished the life, memories, and love he shared with them. His greatest legacy will continue through his daughter, who will always know the depth of her father's love for her.
Will faced his battle with cancer privately, sharing his journey with only a small circle of loved ones. Behind the scenes, with the support of his mother, who consistently attended every appointment, he fought with incredible strength, courage, and determination. He gave his fight everything he had while continuing to love, encourage, and care for his daughter and wife throughout months of treatment and hospitalizations.
Though his time on earth was far too short, Will's life was filled with purpose. His legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched, the people he served, the friendships he built, and the family who will forever carry his love.
Those who knew Will will remember his laughter, his compassion, his loyalty, his kindness, his love for sports, and the light he brought into every room. He was truly one of a kind, and the world is a little dimmer without him in it.
Will fought hard. He loved even harder.
Forever loved. Forever missed. Forever Will.
