Vincent Brian Nichols, Sr., affectionately known as "Nick," was born on September 30, 1952, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Harold Nichols and Lillian Walker. He departed this life on May 3, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family and those who knew him best.

Nick was a dedicated employee in Information Technology at Putnam Investments and a proud attendee of MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He carried a strong work ethic and a commitment to excellence throughout his life.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, Nick had a deep love for music and found great joy in giving back to his community. He spent many years coaching men's league basketball in Boston's South End, where he mentored and inspired others both on and off the court.

Nick was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and friend who cherished his family above all else. He will be remembered for his strength, hard work, and the love he shared with those closest to him. He leaves behind his beloved son, Vincent Brian Nichols Jr. and daughter-in-law Laura Nichols; daughters Renetta Johnson-Wells and son-in-law Reginald Wells, Dana Johnson and daughter-in-law Vicki Pagliuca, Natasha Creech, and Jordan Nichols. He is also survived by his brother, Harold Nichols Jr. Nick's legacy continues through his 12 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply and forever cherish his memory.

He was predeceased by his loving spouse, Dawn Nichols; his father, Harold Nichols; his mother, Lillian Walker; and his siblings Artuis Nichols, Leon Nichols, Brenda Andrews, and Alfreda Singh.
