Obituary for Thomas Robert Masters
Thomas Masters, 86, of Quincy, Massachusetts died peacefully Wednesday morning July 22, 2026.
Raised in Roxbury he was a member of St. Patrick's Parish where he also served as an alter boy. He attended Boston College High School. Following graduation from high school he joined the U.S. Navy where he served 4 years being stationed in Grand Turk and Nantucket. He went on to work as a general plant manager at Blox and later a traffic manager at Creative Packaging. Following his retirement, he found enjoyment in weekly cookouts with his friends, eating out, cooking, baking, gardening and taking care of various dogs his daughter brought home over the years. He will be remembered for his sense of dry humor, and acts of kindness.
Tom is survived by his 4 children including: Thomas R. Masters Jr., Valerie J. Masters Boyd, Douglas E. Masters, and Jennifer A. Masters. He is also survived by his grandchildren Bryan E. Boyd, Reagan E. Dolber, Victoria L. Masters, Kellan D. Masters, and Colt J. Masters. He is predeceased by his wife Sandra P. Masters, his son Bryan Masters and his brother Edward Masters.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Saturday August 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. A visiting hour will be held from 9-10 AM. Interment New Calvary Cemetery, Mattapan.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Thomas R. Masters to the Jimmy Fund of Massachusetts or to the Brockton Veterans Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Center Building 7, 940 Belmont Street Brockton, Ma. 02301. During his final days when he could not be home enjoying his gardens, he enjoyed going outside for sun, warm weather, the flowers and landscaping in the courtyard of the hospice building. Donations specifically to the greenhouse and gardens program can be labeled as “5201- Brockton Greenhouse” in the memo line.
Tom and his family thank the caring and compassionate staff throughout the VA Health Care system, Old Colony Hospice and the Brockton Veterans Hospital Hospice and Palliative Care Unit.
