Obituary for Thomas Robert Masters, Jr.

Thomas "Tommy" Robert Masters, Jr., 64, of Wilmington, North Carolina, passed away on August 2, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Originally from Quincy, Massachusetts, Tommy lived life with humor and an adventurous spirit. He was an avid traveler exploring many places throughout his life. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during Operation Desert Storm. His honorable military service was recognized with several service and campaign awards, reflecting his dedication to his country and to those with whom he served.

Tommy had a creative flair that showed itself in many ways. He had a passion for photography and gardening and was known for his unique fashion style. He was also an exceptional cook who found great joy in preparing meals for family and friends. Sharing good food, great music, laughter, and time with the people he loved were among his favorite pastimes. Tommy also loved spending time at the beach, soaking up the sunshine and warm weather.

Anyone fortunate enough to know Tommy will remember his quick wit, infectious sense of humor, and ability to make others feel welcome. His kindness and generosity were evident in the way he cared for those around him. He cherished his family and many friendships and left a lasting impression on everyone whose life he touched.

Tommy is survived by his beloved daughter, Victoria ("Tori") Masters; his siblings, Valerie Masters, Douglas Masters, Jennifer Masters, Kathryn Craddock McKee, and Christopher Craddock; along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and countless friends who he loved dearly.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Bryan Masters; his mother, Kathryn Morris Craddock; his father, Thomas Robert Masters, Sr.; and his stepmother, Sandra Masters.

The family extends its heartfelt thanks to Jim and Elvis Malinowski for their love, care, and friendship, and to Tommy's friends, caregivers, and medical providers for their kindness, compassion, and support throughout his journey.

A joint Celebration of Life honoring Tommy and his father, Thomas Robert Masters, Sr., will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends are invited. A visiting hour will be held from 9-10 AM.

To honor Tommy's memory and his service to our country, the family invites those who wish to make a memorial donation to a veteran’s organization of their choice.

Tommy loved freely and wholeheartedly, and those fortunate enough to know him will always carry a piece of his spirit with them. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
