Obituary for Rudolph Osborne

Rudolph Osborne also known to many as Rudy departed this life on August 22, 2026.

Born in Port of Spain, Trinidad on June 24, 1944. Rudy was raised by his mother, Marjorie Osborne, alongside his brothers Wayne, Peter, Richard, and Robert, and his sister Marlene. His early years in Trinidad played an important role in shaping the man he would become. Rudy grew up with the gift of an artistic view of life when it came to many things. He had a natural talent for working with his hands and understanding how things worked. Whether it was a television, refrigerator, or another appliance, Rudy could take it apart, repair it, and put it back together effortlessly. This made the future prospect of creating some of the largest costumes for the Boston Caribbean carnival feel like second nature.
For many years, Rudy has been a familiar and respected figure in Boston's Caribbean community. He has worked with costume designers and carnival participants from Trinidad and New York to help keep the traditions of Trinidadian carnival alive in Massachusetts.

Rudy was a loving and devoted husband to Juliana, father to Kelbe, Justin and Suzy; grandfather to Ethan, Kate, Sapphire, Curshelle and Jehoshua.
He will be greatly missed.

Viewing will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Thursday, August 27th from 12-1PM. Funeral Service to begin at 1PM. Interment private

    To my grandpa who always had love bigger than his heart could carry, who when little would sit me on his lap and regale stories of america and stories of when my mom was little. To the man who called me "little suzy" and when I said, "grampa you smell nice" from that point forward would always allow me to chose any one of his colognes when he visited Trinidad and I happily smelled like a man for Lord knows how long. I'll love you always. I told you that I really wanted you to meet your great grandkids but they knew you and loved you just as much as I did. I'm just as creative and artistic as you and I can happily say that I got it from my grampa. Love you forever.
