Rosemary Jackson was born on August 4, 1964, in Boston, Massachusetts, to the late Willie Mae Jackson and John Jackson. Born and raised in the Dorchester neighborhood of Boston, she remained deeply rooted in the community she loved and later raised her own family there.

She was a beloved sister to Kerry, Dwayne, John (Dale), Letita (who preceded her in death in October 2020), and Bernard. Those closest to her were the center of her world, and caring for them brought her the greatest joy. She devoted much of her life to raising her daughter, Taylese, while opening her heart and home to Hakiem, Keyanna, Daniella, and Destinee. She leaves behind her cherished granddaughter, Taylani, along with a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.

A dedicated professional, she worked in healthcare customer service and believed it was never too late to learn. Time and again, she returned to school to develop new skills and pursue the subjects that sparked her curiosity.

She took great pride in making sure her children looked their best, with neat clothes, fresh braids, and a home filled with music. Whether it was Yolanda Adams' Never Give Up, Tupac, Whitney Houston, or 50 Cent, the soundtrack of her home reflected every side of who she was.

Neighbors knew they could often find her sitting on the porch or relaxing in her car, taking in the neighborhood she called home. If you happened to walk by, there was a good chance she'd ask you to stop at the corner store for a Snickers and a Pepsi. Many still remember sitting in her chair while she created some of the tightest, neatest braids around.

Anyone fortunate enough to know her understood that she could be stubborn, but beneath that determination was a woman who loved fiercely, gave generously, and stood unwaveringly by those she cared about. More than anything, she hoped the people she cherished would find happiness and build lives that were true to themselves.

She will be remembered for her playful spirit, unforgettable honey-brown eyes, and quiet acts of kindness. As a grandmother, she never turned down a game of Uno, a chance to paint her nails, or the opportunity to become the canvas for another makeup masterpiece.

She leaves behind memories of laughter, music, braided hair, neighborhood conversations, and a love that continues to echo through the family she cherished most. Though her presence will be deeply missed, her spirit will forever remain in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, July 24th from 10 - 11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Relatives and friends invited. Interment Private.
