Rose Marie Lewis, a retired paste-up artist, died at Champion Rehabilitation and Health Center, Brockton, Monday October 9, 2023.

Born in Tewksbury, she is the daughter of the late Emerson and Anna (Thibeault) Lewis. Rose was a laboratory assistant and Mass Memorial Hospital (University Hospital) and Boston University Hospital before working for Bachrach Photography and later Purdy’s Company as an embellisher and re-toucher.

In 1968 she attended the Art Institute of Boston while simultaneously working as a paste-up artist for Ginn and Company. She graduated in 1972 and returned to the Institute for course work in 1980 and to teach in 1981. She worked for Eagle Graphics as a paste-up artist on bills for the Massachusetts State House and retied in 1985 from Court Square Press.

Rose also took courses at The New England School of Design, Museum of Fine Arts, Northeastern University, Cambridge Adult Center, Boston Adult Center and John Robert Power’s Finishing School.

Services are private and Rose’s cremated remains will be placed in a niche at New Calvary Cemetery, Boston.
