Robert, age 68 went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 12, 2022 at home in Whitman, MA, following a lengthy illness. He joined the Lord peacefully surrounded by his family.

Robert was born in Boston, Massachusetts to Edward Sr. and Margaret Johnson. He lived and grew up in South End and Dorchester, MA. He graduated from English High in 1972.

Robert loved sports, playing basketball, shooting pool, and he was a black belt in Taekwondo. Prior to his illness, he worked for Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center as a Service Ambassador. Some of his favorite things to do were watching basketball and football games and spending time with family.

We all have so many loving, funny, and cool stories of Robert that make you smile and laugh, like he always did. He loved the saying “pretty bobby” and “b-love”. He loved dogs, growing up as a child he had a family dog “Buster” and he loved walking his son's dog Prince. Many people didn't know Robert had a great voice, as a teenager he would sing with his friends and he loved music.

Robert loved his family dearly. He is preceded in death by his parents Edward Sr. and Margaret Johnson and his sister Margaret Harvey. He leaves to cherish his brothers, Edward Jr, William Sr., and Richard, his sisters, Cheryl, Antionette, Katherine, and Judith, his Fiancé Laverne Perryman; two children Shiree and Robert Perryman, two grandchildren Robert Jr. and James; several nieces and nephews, and numerous relatives and close friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Tuesday, November 22nd. from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at Forest Hills Cemetery.
