Obituary for Robert Francis Newell
Robert Newell, a resident of Braintree passed away on March 1, 2025 at the age of 56. Bobby grew up in the Lower Mills area of Dorchester to the late Patrick and Rose Newell. Beloved husband of Karen (Lane) Newell and the loving father of Michael Lane, Cailyn and Bobby Newell. Bobby was the devoted brother of Kathy Bickford, Patrick Newell, Aiden Newell, Brendan Newell, Barry Newell, and Erin Newell.
From a young age Bobby pursued a career in construction. He worked for RJ Devereaux Corp. for the past 25 years, where he took great pride in his many different roles over the years.
As a young boy Bobby spent many memorable summers with family in Ireland visiting relatives. As he got older, he shared his love of Ireland with friends who accompanied him on his many trips.
Bobby was a loyal friend with a generous spirit. He could always be counted on to help anyone in need. He will also be remembered for his love of entertaining. Some of his happiest moments were spent at his pool in front of the grill, surrounded by family and friends, listening to Johnny Cash.
He loved his Sunday afternoons watching the Patriots and enjoyed a good Bruins game.
Bobby also leaves behind many nieces and nephews who enjoyed spending time with their Uncle Bobby and looked forward to the annual July 4th cookout.
Bobby's greatest joy of all, was his three children Michael, Cailyn & Bobby. He took great pride in all of their accomplishments.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, March 8, 2025, in St Gregory ‘s Church, 2215 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester at 10 o’clock. Visiting Hours Friday, March 7, 2025, in the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MIILTON SQUARE, 4-8 pm. Interment Private.
In lieu of flowers please make a donation to the charity of your choice in Memory of Bobby.

I was out of town for his services and respectfully could not attend. I always enjoyed running into Bobby because I knew I was in for a good laugh. God Bless the entire Newell family. To the entire Newell family, I was greatly saddened to hear of the passing of your brother Bobby. Although I did not know him personally I had the joy of teaching all of his younger siblings at St Greg's in Dorchester. I always held each of them in the highest regard. Smart, funny, athletic and generally well rounded young people. I teach at St Mary of the Hills School in Milton now. As having now taught for forty years I can honestly say I am sure someone like Bobby is with God, his beloved parents and the angels and saints. My students and I will pray for you in the coming days. I am deeply sorry for your loss.
