Mrs. Retal (Marshall) Gordon-Trail was born to the late Edna (Barret) & Hicks Marshall on January 14, 1937, in St. Elizabeth, Jamaica. She passed away peacefully on August 31, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts, at the age of 88.

Retal lived a life marked by dedication to her work, her faith, and the joy she found in sharing time with loved ones. She spent over two decades working at Brigham & Women's Hospital, where her commitment and service left a lasting impression on colleagues.

She was a devoted member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Retal found strength and purpose in her faith community. Her presence there was a source of warmth and encouragement to many. Retal had a deep love for cooking and took great pleasure in preparing meals for family and friends. Her kitchen was often filled with laughter, conversation, and the comforting aromas of home-cooked dishes. She also enjoyed traveling, embracing the opportunity to explore new places and experiences.

She is survived by her sisters Jenifer Cox and her husband Western Cox, Isabella Clarke and Delores Slowly, as well as a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish her memory.

She was preceded in death by her sisters Gloria Marshall Cann and Delores Woolcock, and her brother Govan Marshall.

Visitation will be held at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1076 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Saturday, September 13th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at Oak Lawn Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
