Obituary for R. Kent Lamere, Jr.

R. Kent Lamere, Jr., 66, of Milton passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 5, 2022, after a long, courageous battle with brain cancer. Beloved husband of Jean (Shea) Lamere. Loving father of Kelsey Lamere and her husband Adam Witpen of Milton, Dan Lamere and his wife Brianna of Dorchester, and Kevin Lamere of Dorchester. Grandfather of Lila Witpen of Milton. Son of Margaret Melgard and stepfather Richard Melgard of Lake Mary, FL, and stepmother Ruth Lamere and the late Robert Lamere of Kingston. Brother of David Lamere and his wife Sandy of Altamonte Springs, FL, and Elizabeth Lamere and her late husband Alan Vega of New York, NY. Kent is also survived by his many loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and step-siblings.

Born in Boston and raised in Milton, Kent is a graduate of Milton Academy, Tufts University with a BS in Chemical Engineering, and Columbia University with an MBA in Finance. Kent worked for over 40 years in the engineering field, most recently with DPS Group in Framingham. Kent loved spending time with his family, playing, watching, and coaching sports, fishing on Nauset Beach, and hiking in the Blue Hills with his dogs.

Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday, October 11 from 4-8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 29 Saint Mary’s Road, Milton, Wednesday, October 12 at 10 AM. Family and friends welcome.
