Obituary for Peter S. Donadio

Peter S. Donadio was born in Dorchester, MA on December 12, 1946 and passed into eternal rest on October 7, 2025.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Patricia, to whom he was married for over 55 years, and his children: Peter of Quincy, Joyce of South Boston, Kathy (Chris) McDevitt of Milton, and Matthew (Jessica) of Framingham. He was cherished Papa to Ryan, Timothy, Braeden and Shaela. Peter also leaves behind his brother, Anthony, of Quincy and sister, Barbara, of Chapel Hill, NC and his many nieces, nephews and extended family. He was predeceased by his parents, Peter and Mary, his sister, Maria and his brother, Paul.

Peter grew up in Dorchester, attended Boston Latin and graduated from Boston University. He served in the Army National Guard Reserves and went on to build a successful business as a financial advisor. He did not just manage his clients’ investments, he cared for them and their families through many life events.

Peter lived life with love, faith and passion. He had many circles of friends and made a point to arrange dinners and get-togethers with them often. He was known for his great sense of humor, practical jokes, and mischievous nature. Nobody was safe from his shenanigans, not even clergy, and laughter followed wherever he was.

Faith was not just part of his life, it was the foundation of his life. He lived in service to God and others; his generosity knew no bounds. Peter spent decades volunteering his time, teaching pre-cana, confirmation classes, and giving tithing talks to numerous churches. He served on various boards including Marion Manor, Don Orione Home, South Shore Mental Health, and My Brother’s Keeper. He constantly nurtured his relationship with God through prayer and study.

Most of all, Peter loved his la famiglia more than anything in the world, starting with the love of his life, Pat. When the children were young, Peter always made a point to be home for family dinners no matter how busy he was at work. He loved family ski and beach vacations and Sunday dinners watching football with his kids and grandkids.

He left a lasting impression on those who knew and loved him, as well as many he met just once. His legacy of faith, love, and service lives on through his family.

This is a tremendous loss for everyone who was blessed to have Peter in their lives. As a kid, he taught me many things, but most importantly, how to be kind, helpful and generous to others. He lived a life of faith and was a precious gift to those he loved. Rest in peace, Mr. D 🕊️

Peter taught me how to ride a Honda XR 100 through the Milton Quarries, how to use an axe, and that dogs should not poop on their neighbor's yard. Never knew he was from Southie but does not surprise me. Rest in Peace
