Obituary for Pearlie Mae Warfield

Pearlie Mae Warfield, lovingly known as “Dutchess,” of Jamaica Plain, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully April 16th 2026. Born on July 22, 1946, Pearlie lived a life rooted in love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Alpine Battle and Son Battle, and her brothers, Robert Matthews, Joseph Battle, Prentiss Battle, and Herbert Battle.

Pearlie is survived by her devoted husband, Leroy D. Warfield, and her loving daughters, Deborah R. Streeter, Gwendolyn F. Battle, and Toshia M Jones and husband David M Jones. She also leaves behind her cherished grandchildren: Landen Soberanis, Dalanie Streeter (Keynu), Sheldon DaQuan McBynum, David Jones Jr., Tajah Jones, Shavon McBynum and Jadin Jones, along with a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews who will continue to honor her legacy.

Pearlie retired from Stone & Webster Engineering, where she worked as a dedicated accountant for more than 25 years. She then started a second career at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital which she later retired as a Patient Care Technician. Beyond her professional life, she was known for her kind heart, caring nature, and unmistakable personality. Pearlie had a direct way of speaking that could always bring laughter to those around her. She was a deeply devoted wife and mother, and her love for her grandchildren was boundless.

She found joy in life’s simple pleasures—especially trips to Foxwoods and dancing with her children and grandchildren, moments that will be remembered fondly by all who shared them with her.

Pearlie Mae Warfield will be deeply missed, but her spirit, love, and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
