Paul and Barbara sat behind me at the patriots game in the old stadium. I always enjoyed our conversations together. We stayed in touch over the years even after he stopped attending the games. We had started meeting for breakfast in Woonsocket RI which was half way from my house in Putnam CT and his home. There were four of us that last met in April to have a pre draft meeting. Paul was a wonderful man-sweet, soft spoken, knowledgeable and giving. We served on the board of the Medfield Food Cupboard together for years, and since moving away, I've thought of him often. It was so good to see him this past Christmas season at a get together of us Food Cupboard old-timers. So many shared memories! And he and I bonded over my new town in NH -he had many stories of taking the train up to Sunapee and going through Warner. His generous spirit, warm friendship and vibrant personality will be missed by all of us who knew and volunteered with him. Sincere condolences to the family he dearly loved. Martha Sherman

I did not know Paul well, but had the pleasure of his company at a family reunion and when I visited him at his home many years ago. I found him to be a kind and loving person. My wife and I worked with Paul for many years at the Medfield Food Cupboard as "Luggers". We carried bins of food from the basement of the church, where the MFC used to be, up to the main floor where the distributions were held. We have many great memories of those years. I'm so sorry to hear of Paul's passing. I met Paul while working at the Medfield Food Cupboard 10 years ago. Even at the age of 80, Paul cheerily "lugged" boxes of food from the basement up to the main floor where the food would be distributed to needy families. Paul was a most interesting, selfless conversationalist who cared about others. We shared many stories about our kids, cars, and whatever else was the topic du jour. Paul and a few others from his Milton high graduating class visited my mother's house in Sagamore Bch for lunch each summer over the past 6 years since in my father passed to spend time with my mother and reminisce about the good old days. Paul was a good childhood friend of my dad's and he was part of a tight nit group from Milton going back to the 1930's. It was a pleasure getting to know Paul during those visits. We are saddened to learn of his passing this morning and will attend St. Elizabeth's mass to honor Paul's legacy.

Sir, Mr Finerty, & family as a fellow service member, Im USMC combat veteran, Id like to say thank you for your years of self sacrifice and service in the Army. Putting the needs of our country ahead of your own, devotion to country , community & family is admirable. You were a friend & neighbor to my grandfather. Easter! What a time to be a young girl, but especially at Aunty Babs and Uncle Paul's. From the decor, to the feast, to (most importantly) the Easter Egg Hunt. I cherish my memories at Uncle Paul's as a young girl, holding cousin Sammy's hand tight as we raced around the property hunting for eggs, hunting for the Golden Egg! Every Easter for my own son and cousins, I setup our own hunt - and I remember Uncle Paul and Aunty Babs, and it warms my heart.

Dear Finerty family, very sorry for your loss. My father Arthur Clasby & his 7 brothers and sisters were friends and neighbors of Paul growing up together in Milton . Of the eight siblings two remain. Irene Clasby lives in NH , My Aunt Dorothy, lives in MD both in their 80s, send their condolences as do I. Dad, I will miss you forever!! You were so brave through everything you went through in just these few short months. You fought hard to get back to home in July, we were so proud of the work you did to get there. We certainly didn't expect the turn of events in the last few weeks. I am glad you are with Mom and your immediate and extended family. I am hoping it is peaceful for you there but also that there was a huge celebration when the last of the Francis Finerty's arrived!!
