Paul Hynes, of Dorchester, died unexpectedly at the age of 62, May 30, 2022.

Son of the late Robert and Anne C. (Walsh) Hynes Beloved husband of Ann Marie (Connolly), Father of Paul Michael and wife Holly of Canton, Thomas Joseph and girlfriend, Kristen Conran of Braintree Brother of Robert “Bob” Hynes and wife Mary, Richard “Dickie” Hynes and wife Michele, John Hynes and wife Sue, Marice Hynes, Mary Hynes and Frank Hynes and wife Marie. Loving Papa to Anna M, Ella S, and Leah M. He also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Paul was a lifelong Dorchester resident. He grew up in Lower Mills and graduated from Boston Technical High School 1977. He completed Boston Carpenters Apprentice Training School and was a former member of Carpenters Local 33. North Bennett Street School Locksmith Program 1991. Longtime employee of MWRA where he worked as a carpenter and Facilities Specialist Supervisor. Paul served as Vice President, NAGE SEIU Local 168, dedicated to serving his members.

Past President Clam Point Civic Association. Past President of Half Moon Cottage Colony Association, Half Moon Lake, Alton, New Hampshire. Paul loved to split his time keeping busy between the lake in NH and at his Harwich, Cape Cod home. Paul was actively involved in local politics and dedicated to the community in which he lived. Paul was devoted to friends, neighbors, community, coworkers but his favorite pastime was spending time with his family and his three granddaughters whom he adored.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Gregory’s Church, Wednesday, June 8 at 10:00 am. Visiting hours in Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Tuesday, June 7 from 4-8 pm. Interment Cedar Grove Cemetery, Dorchester.
