Obituary for Pablo Benito (Ben) White
Pablo Benito White (Ben) of Hyde Park, MA passed away peacefully on the 6th of January 2022 after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease with his loving and devoted wife Dorothy White close by.
Pablo Benito White (Ben) was born in Cuba on the 15th of January 1934 to Edmund Josiah White and Ethlyn White.
While still a teenager the whole family moved to Jamaica where he completed his high school education. After graduating high school, Ben pursued a career as a tailor. During the late 1950’s Ben had moved to England and qualified as a welder, where he worked at Paten Shaft for many years.
By 1980 Ben had moved to the United States and reunited with his younger brother Edmund White Jr. in Boston, who he had not seen since leaving Jamaica.
Ben took on a new career and trained to become a mental health nurse at Boston State Hospital. He enjoyed the new challenges of his transition and was rapidly promoted to a supervisory position.
Ben touched so many lives with his kind, caring loving nature and will be remembered as a decent, amazing husband, father, brother, uncle and friend who ensured his assistance was given, whether it be emotional or practical. Ben enjoyed travel, politics, gardening, construction & DIY.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy White, son Glen White, son Densign White, daughter Marcia White, son Trevor White, son Donald White, son Maurice White, step-son Ray Grey, step-son Paul Grey, Sister-In-law Erlene Hinds, 17 grandchildren, and 11 great grandchildren, a host of nieces and nephews, neighbors and dear friends.
Visiting hour on Thursday January 20, 2022 from 10-11 AM in the SDA Church, Hyde Park. A funeral Service will follow at 11 AM. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.
