Obituary for Nadeia Marie Desroches
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Nadeia Marie Desroches on October 12, 2026.
Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti on March 5, 1951, to her loving parents, Lemercier Desroches and Moizilia Desroches Jean-Baptiste, her journey was one of courage, determination, hard work, and love.
On December 23, 1972, she arrived in America with her two brothers beginning a new chapter in her life. After initially settling in Manhattan, she visited her father in Boston and fell in love with the city. She decided Boston was where she wanted to build her future.
She found work at the hospital, met the man who would become our father, and eventually married and welcomed her two children. Never one to stop striving for more, she later attended nursing school and embarked on a career that would define a significant part of her life.
For approximately 40 years, Nadeia dedicated herself to nursing and caring for others. Her work reflected the compassion, dedication, and strength that were such an important part of who she was. She spent decades helping others, offering care when it was needed most, and making a difference in countless lives.
In addition to her long career, she had remarkably talented hands and a creative spirit. She could sew and bake anything. Everything she made carried a little piece of her talent, patience, and love.
She also enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises, creating wonderful memories and enjoying new experiences along the way.
Nadeia leaves to mourn her passing, her two children, Ricky and Melissa, her beloved “honey babies”; her grandsons, Javier and Jacob, her seven siblings, Ernest Desroches, Georges Desroches, Raymond Desroches, Fritz Desroches, Marlene Desroches, Rita Desroches, Jessie Desroches, extended family, and dear friends.
A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated at Saint Gregory Church, 2223 Dorchester Avenue, Dorchester, Friday October 23 at 9:30 AM. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hour at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, Dorchester Lower Mills prior to the Mass from 8-9 AM. Interment in Mount Hope Cemetery.
