Obituary for Mitchum Anthony Forde

Elder Mitchum Anthony Forde, affectionally known as Tiny, was born on June 26, 1963 in Christ Church, Barbados, West Indies. He departed this life on Thursday, February 2, 2023 in Boston, Massachusetts. Tiny was the eldest child of six children, born to the proud parents of the Reverend Kenneth Forde Sr. and Ms. Maria Rollins of Barbados. In June 1971, Elder Mitchum Forde and his siblings relocated to the United States to join their parents and settled in Boston, Massachusetts. He continued his primary education at the Jackson Mann in Allston, MA, and in 1983 became a proud graduate of Copley Square International High School. Tiny accepted the Lord into his life at an early age, and began preaching and teaching the word of God. In 1989, Elder Forde married Jeanette Copeland and gained three beautiful daughters - Quiana, LaToya, and Chloe. From this union came two bundles of joy, Turquoise and Tatiana. Tiny, loved working and helping people in any way he could. He worked at the Department of Children and Family Services for several years and later became a driver for First Call Transportation in Boston. Having worked for others for many years, Anthony decided to fulfill his lifelong dream of becoming an entrepreneur and opened two businesses - Well Done Services and Chloe Sweet Chariot Transportation. Chloe Sweet Chariot started with three drivers, who worked with him for many years, those being his wife, Jeanette Forde, god sister, Elder Anne Marie Gray, and godbrother, Elder Prince Woodberry. Tiny would greet every person with a “Good Morning” and a big smile. Elder Forde took John 9:4 to heart, “As long as it is day, we must do the works of him who sent me. Night is coming when no man can work.” He worked out his soul salvation at Mt Calvary Holy Church of America under the leadership of the late Bishop Joseph Ely and the late Bishop Nellie C. Yarborough. He served on the Usher Board, choir, YPHA and as a Sunday School Teacher. Having a thirst to better himself, Elder Forde started taking theology classes and later attended Bethel Bible Institute in Boston Ma. In 2009, Tiny married Carolyn Claiborne and gained four additional children - LeTeya Flambo, David Thomas, Thomas Claiborne and Nikkita Claiborne. He worked alongside his beloved wife until he was no longer able. You could always find “Tiny” sparring over the scriptures with his friends, in church praising God, talking about sports, or just sitting back enjoying his family. He enjoyed living life. Whether clowning with the family at dinner or being the life of the party at family celebrations, Tiny brought joy to those around him. Some would say his greatest strength was teaching the word of God or sharing advice. Mitchum leaves to cherish his memory his loving parents, Reverend Kenneth Forde, Sr. (Pastor Deborah), and Ms. Maria Rollins-Forde; his children, Turquoise Forde Saget (Reginald), Tatiana Forde Curtis (Dion) of Atlanta GA., Quiana Emmons, LaToya Ahart, Chloe Ahart, LeTeya Flambo (Randy), Pastor David Thomas (Lady Suretta), Thomas Claiborne (Grace), Nikkita Claiborne (Chuckuma), all of MA.; many grandchildren; four sisters, Margo Attles, Catherine Forde-Augustine (Gregory), Theresa Gomes (Anthony) and Ja’net Jusino (Shai), of MA.; two brothers, Kenneth Forde, Jr., and Michael Callis of Florida.; three aunts, Odessa, Sylvia and Diana Forde, of New York; three godchildren Jamal and Jamel Massie, and Kevon Hutley of MA.; two godparents, Carolyn Ward of Virginia, and Reverend Larry Green Sr. of MA.; and a host of other nieces, nephews, cousins, friends; and saints of the Most High. Funeral Service, Sunday, February 12, 2023, in the Bethel Pentecostal Church, 112 Humboldt Avenue, Roxbury at 3:30 pm. Visiting Hours 2-3:30 pm. Interment Private.
