Obituary for Maunique Calixte

Maunique Calixte was born and raised in a village called Pestel in Haiti on May 11th, 1937 to Madeline Francois and Francois Bernard. Maunique passed away peacefully on January 3rd, 2026 surrounded by her loving family. For over 68 years, Maunique shared her life with her beloved husband, Jacques Jean Calixte.”

Maunique was a seamstress for several years and a bus monitor for the City of Boston for over 20 years up until her retirement.

Maunique lived a life grounded in faith, love, and purpose. She walked with God and reflected His grace through her kindness, strength, compassion, devotion, and humility. To know Maunique was to experience peace, encouragement, warmth, and unwavering faith. Maunique found joy in family, worship, prayer, serving others, music, community and trusted God through every season of life. Her life was a testimony of faith, and her legacy will continue through her children, family members, friends, and all whose lives she touched. Maunique enjoyed spending quality time with her grandchildren going out for errands or cooking for them. Maunique showed us that joy is not the absence of hardship, but the presence of faith. Her life reminded us to find light in the darkness and to trust that God’s promises remain, even when the road is difficult.
