Mary Margaret Gaughan on Thursday, June 9, 2022, suddenly passed away at age 74.

Mary was born on June 10, 1947, in Pittsburgh, PA, to Robert and Catherine Gaughan. Mary received her teaching degree from Villa Maria College in 1972. Mary taught home economics and culinary arts for 30 years before retiring from Madison Park Technical Vocational High School in Roxbury, MA. Mary was a founding member of the Madison Park Retired Educators Fund. She was a member of the American Federation of Teachers and a steward of the Boston Teachers Union.

Mary will be remembered as good, sweet, and kind. She enjoyed her retirement playing golf and spending her winters in Bradenton, FL, where she met many new friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Kathleen. She is survived by her brothers, Martin and Robert, and sisters, Susan and Patricia.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Mark’s Church, 1725 Dorchester Avenue, Friday, June 17th at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. A visiting hour will be held from 9-10 AM at the church.
