CREAMER - Mary Elizabeth “Betty”, age 89, formerly of Dorchester, Quincy and Braintree, died at the Pat Roche Hospice Home in Hingham on October 7, 2024.
Betty was the loving daughter of the late Bob and Mae Creamer. Devoted sister of Dennie (Chuck) McCarthy of Braintree, the late Kay (Bill) Lynch, Bob Creamer, Jack (Janet) Creamer and Jeanne (Hugh) Lynch. Adored aunt of Denise Vespa, Barbara Lynch, Johnny Creamer, Sue Dreamer, Tracey Dickerson; Kathy Distler, Maura Gray, Mike Lynch, Sean McCarthy, Christine McCarthy, Michelle Hume, Lisa Finnigan and Paula McLoud. Caring great-aunt to Billy, Johnny, Bobby, Amanda, Rachael, Sara, Jacob, Lily, Hanna, Luke, Brian, Max, Zachary, Erin, Charlie, Fiona, Molly, John, Kelly, Megan and Kylie. Cherished great-great-aunt to her newest loves, Lucy and Leo. Betty also had many lifelong friends.
Betty was born and raised in Dorchester and graduated from Cathedral High School. She worked in the accounting department at Ropes & Gray Law Firm in Boston for 40 years.
Betty was a devout Catholic and over the years treasured the many pilgrimages she took to the Holy Land with her prayer group. A highlight of her life was meeting Pope John Paul II in Rome. She traveled extensively and loved to take cruises with her girlfriends. She enjoyed reading murder mysteries, watching Murder She Wrote, Perry Mason, the Golden Girls and old movies on Sunday afternoon with Grandma. She never missed a sale at Filene’s Basement, loved to shop and mastered the art of buying and returning. She spent her summer days at Nantasket Beach and enjoyed walking Castle Island with her brother, Bob. She was always in search of the best bagel, savored a cup of coffee with a jelly donut, and frequented Dairy Queen and Peaceful Meadows ice cream. Most of all she loved family gatherings and spending time with her nieces and nephews and their children.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Wednesday, October 16th at St. Agatha Parish, 432 Adams St., MILTON at 10:30 am. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, WEST ROXBURY. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
