Martha Mary (Marcelonis) DiStasio — a woman of kindness, love, remarkable courage and strength; a devoted wife, loving mother of seven, grandmother of ten, sister, and friend — of Quincy, MA and Ft. Myers, FL, died peacefully at home on Friday, June 26, 2026.
Martha is survived by her husband, Michael A. DiStasio, and her seven children: Michael (Marlene) DiStasio of Braintree, John DiStasio of Holbrook, Robert (Kim) DiStasio of Kingston, Joseph (Jill) DiStasio of Braintree, Stephen DiStasio of Quincy, Christine DiStasio of Hanover, and Nancy (Joseph) Guarino of Braintree. She treasured her ten grandchildren: James, Gianna, Robby, Giovanni, Chloe, Joey, Sofia, Brooklyn, Sienna, and Alexa.
She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Martha Marcelonis, and her brothers John, Charlie, and Billy Marcelonis. She is survived by her brother, Joe Marcelonis, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
Martha cherished her husband and family above all else. A registered nurse, she graduated from Boston College and earned her master's degree from Boston University, later teaching nursing at both Boston University and Quincy College. She spent many years working in the surgical unit at Quincy Hospital while raising her seven children. She loved to dance at Moseley's on the Charles, where she first met her husband, Michael. Martha always put others' needs before her own and gave unconditional love to everyone around her. A devout Catholic, she attended Mass regularly and was also well known among family for making the best lasagna & eggplant parmesan. Beautiful inside and out, she will be dearly missed by all whose lives she touched.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Divine Mercy Parish, Saint Ann Church, 757 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA, on Tuesday, July 7th at 10:30 AM. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton, MA, on Monday, July 6th from 4–7 PM. Interment will follow at Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
