Obituary for Marjada McConney
Marjada Evelyn McConney, known lovingly by her friends and family members as “JJ” and “Jada”, passed away suddenly on July 14, 2024. She was 42 years old.
Marjada was born in Stamford Connecticut. She spent a significant amount of time in Boston, Massachusetts, a place of which she held many strong family ties.
Marjada was a graduate of Westhill High School in Stamford Connecticut, graduating in 2000. She spent time as a student at Norwalk Community College, in Norwalk, Connecticut. She had varied interests of which she took part at various times in her young life, which included the Special Olympics, the Salvation Army, the latter of which she held life-long connections.
Marjada was preceded in death by her brother, “Eddie” Edmund Anthony McConney III; her mother, Margaret Anne (Randolph) McConney; and her father, Edmund McConney Jr. We take peace in knowing she is at rest, and by their sides.
She is survived by her brother, Dwayne McConney and family; her sister Crystal McConney and family; and the pride of her life, her 16-year-old son, Camari Brown.
Marjada’s extended family, comprised of a host of aunts, uncles, and many (many) surviving cousins, regarded her a well-loved member of the family, a caring friend and consistent confidant. She never forgot a birthday, found ways to celebrate the accomplishments of others, and was seemingly always present at every holiday and day of importance.
She leaves a number of close friends and members of her community, near and far.
Marjada will be very dearly missed.
