Marie T. (La Croix) Cantave, 87, of Milton, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2021 with her loving family by her side.

Mrs. Marie Therese Cantave, daughter of the late Odilia Lacroix and Leovy Leger was born August 13, 1933 in Hinche, Haiti. She was the oldest of seven siblings; Marie Rose Lacroix (deceased), Henry Leger, Lonold Leger (deceased), Jacque Leger, Jean Leonel Lacroix, Marie Yolene Leger, Frantz Lacroix. She has always been a care taker since her early age helping her mother and her siblings.

She was united in matrimony to Jacque Louis Cantave (Capi) in of 1952. This union was blessed with eight children.

Marie decided to move to the United State to provide a better life for herself and her children. She worked multiple jobs at time to care for her family, and never complained. Marie always carried herself with style, pride, dignity and poise and finally retired as a Lab Technician from Mass General. She moved back to Haiti to care for her husband and daughter in the 90’s. She was loved by many because of her compassion, generous spirit and pleasant personality. Her impact and influence will forever remain in the lives of all who knew her. She enjoyed the simple things in life. She was at her happiest at family reunions, cooking for others, taking care of others, and family gatherings. She loved to read her bible, and praying for those she loved. She departed this life peacefully and quietly on Tuesday June 8, 2021 at home in Milton, MA surrounded by her family.

Her beautiful life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Frantz Cantave, Guy Cantave, Marie Edith Cantave Kenney, Nancy Cantave, Reynolds Cantave, Jacqueline Moise, Gabriel Ernest Cantave (deceased), Marie Flore Cantave Saint-Joy (deceased), Mimose Cantave (deceased), daughter-in-law, Marlene Cantave, twenty-two grandchildren Terence Bryan Cantave, Greg Cantave, Michelle Cantave, Gabriel Cantave, Taneisha Cantave, Keisha Cantave, Guirlene Cantave, Guilford Cantave, Christine Cantave, Jericho Cantave, Hakeem Cantave, Pierre Cantave, Monique Moise (deceased), John Kenney, Brendan Kenney, Maxine Moreau, Ceaser Hernandez, Inara Starks, Shane Starks, Shamas Starks, Gabrielle Cantave, Chantelle Cantave, nineteen great grand-children, a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral Services will be at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Saturday, June 12th at 12:00 Noon. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours will be held immediately prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 12:00 Noon. Burial Milton Cemetery.
