Obituary for Marie Leonie Bosquet

On the morning of May 13, 2022, Mrs. Marie Leonie Bosquet peacefully departed the land of the living and entered the kingdom of heaven with our Lord, our Father, Christ.

Marie Leonie Bosquet, formally known as Joseph, nickname Aita, was born on November 7, 1949, in Thomonde, Haiti, and raised in Port Au Prince, Haiti. Her parents, Arsene and Yvonne Bosquet, were two strong people who instilled the valued of education in their children’s lives, living off the land, conducting commerce, cooking, and community value. She was later brought to Port-au-Prince by her uncle/Godfather Hermann Florent to further her education, where she was nurtured by a host of family including Marie Louise, and Eugenie Janvier. Aita did her schooling in Port au Prince and became an educator following in her Godfather’s footsteps. A chanced encounter, followed by a relentless pursuit, culminated in holy matrimony when she married the love of her life Roland Joseph. She valued family, education, friendship, and community. Aita and her late husband Roland migrated to Miami, Florida where they raised their five kids. Years after the untimely passing of her late husband Roland, Aita moved her family to Boston and birthed her last son.

She spent her time and efforts working to make sure her children and family flourished in their lives. Her most outstanding achievement was her ability to invest in each person she loved. She enjoyed most the ability to laugh, make jokes, and connect with family and friends. Her sense of humor was electrifying and contagious. Her ability to show unconditional love and empathy led to her final career caring for the elderly. A devoted mother and doting nana, she fiercely poured unconditional love into the lives of her loved ones and everyone she met. She was an example of God’s love, often sacrificing and always putting her family first. She is mourned and loved deeply by a host of family, friends, and colleagues. She is survived by her siblings, children, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins, and many friends.
