Marielle Hazelwood, age 80, died peacefully on Tuesday May 23, 2023 after a brief illness. Marielle was born in Leogane, Haiti on February 5, 1943, to the late Asseineil Merisier and Marie Clocilia Ferdinand Merisier.

She emigrated to the United States in the 1970s, where she met and married the late Willie Hazelwood. Marielle worked hard and alongside her husband, raised two wonderful children. She was especially devoted to her much-loved grandchildren. She was a kind person who lived a simple life and will be missed immensely by family and friends.

In addition to her parents and husband, Marielle was preceded in death by her brothers Willy and Abellard Merisier. She leaves to mourn her passing: her daughter Jessica and her husband Ellis, her son Gregory and his wife Lisa, grandchildren Ish and Lahlah, brother Valmond, sisters Gertha and Josette, several nieces, nephews, and a host of dear friends.

Visitation will be held at the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS on Friday, June 2nd from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at St. Michael Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
