Marie Edume was born in Bainet located in the Southeast Department of Haiti She was the daughter of Montess Edume and Jennie Mathieu. Marie Edume grew up in Bainet with her parents and seven brothers and sisters: Celina Dume Hyppolite and family, Irene, Lilliane Edume and family (deceased), Seneque Edume and family, Saintus Edume and family, Dieuphene Edume (deceased), Gelais Edume (deceased). Marie moved to Port-au-Prince where she lives in Mon Repos Carrefour with her family. Marie spent her adult life in this area and devoted herself to serving her neighborhood as a great commerce lady. She was blessed with three children, Joseph, Jean Gracien and Wilson who passed away at an early age.

Marie developed a great relationship with everybody in her area and was loved by many. She was a family lady and sacrificed her life for the well-being of her children who was the love of her life. Marie in Mon Repos Carrefour was everybody’s mother and an advisor to her neighbors. Twenty years ago, she emigrated to the United States to be reunited in Boston with her children and grandchildren with whom she spent the rest of her life. Marie was loved by her grandchildren: Robinson, Mathieu, Marcus, Austeen, Taina and many nieces and nephews, especially Lovely and Smith and countless others. Marie passed away on February 9th leaving behind a beautiful legacy because her life has touched many. She will be missed by her family and friends deeply.
