"Dadá" Maria Eduarda Souto Amado Alves was born January 10,1937 to Eduardo Souto Amado and Margarida(Ida) Alves in São Lourenço dos Órgãos a municipality situated in the mountainous central part of the interior island of Santiago, Cape Verde. In 1985 she immigrated and settled in Boston, Massachusetts. Through the years, authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in her life. Everyone who knew “Dada” as she is known affectionately by those closest to her know her big heart and giving nature. She died peacefully at the Boston Medical Center on April 15, 2023 and is survived by her 6 children, 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and many loving family members and friends. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and great-grandma, a kind and thoughtful soul and will be missed and remembered by many lives she touched. She was 86 years old.
