Obituary for Lisa M. Hutton

On Wednesday, September 3, 2025, the lord called Lisa home after battling months of being chronically ill at Brigham and Woman’s Hospital.

Lisa Marie Hutton (Henry) “Kikora Sanyika” was born on August 11,1965 in Boston to Mattie Mae Crayton-Henry and Hayward Henry Jr (Dr Mtangulizi Sanyika).

In her early years she lived in Roxbury with her parents and attended. St. Joseph's elementary, where she took an interest in music and dance. Then she moved with her dad and his side of the family until her junior year high school before returning back to Boston in 1981 to be with her mom. In 1982, she graduated from Cathedral High School. Lisa was a jack of all trades. She went to Blaine’s hair school before going into the medical field for billing and coding and also becoming EKG tech at Mass general Hospital and St Elizabeth hospital.

Lisa had a good heart and was a supportive person. Lisa was known for her fashion and haircuts. She enjoyed getting dress and going out dancing. She enjoyed being in hair shows. She loved to travel. She loved to listen to music and sing. Lisa was a big fan of sports esp football. She loved to cook. But mostly Lisa enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.

In 2023, Lisa gave herself to Christ. She became part of Jubilee Christian Church. She also got rebaptized as well. Lisa went to church every Sunday up until she became sick.

Lisa was preceded in death by Grandparents Samuel and Elizabeth Crayton, of Lowell, Mass, Rev. Dr. Hayward Henry Sr. and Octavia Thomas Henry of Opelousas La, her Aunt Anabell Mingo of Opelousas La. and her brother Hayward “Vin” Henry of Boston.

Lisa leaves behind her loving memories to her parents mother Mattie Crayton- Henry of Boston and father Dr Mtangulizi Sanyika, Step mother Rev. Dr Nina Sanyika of Texas:2 half-brothers Dadisi and Sekou Sanyika of California: Thaddeus Hutton: her three Daughters Nicole Henry- Pannell with Kenneth Pannell, Brittany, and Jazmin Sauls with late Anthony Sauls : Son in law David Sweatman: six grandkids Ja’Khara, Ja-Ayna, Jaylen, Jayda Sweatman, Jhy’Elle, and Journee Justice: Godmother Mama Nia: special friend Carl of Boston and a host of relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at Jubilee Christian Church, 1500 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan on Thursday, September 25th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment Private.
