Condolences

On behalf of Angela, Sharon, Colleen, George Everette and his wife Merline, we, the children of Queen and George Bruton Jr., offer heartfelt condolences to Michael Diggs and our cousin Gwendolyn on the passing of Michael's mother, Leona Diggs. The Diggs family forged ties through our Hargrett-Talbot and Hargrett-Simkins branches over sixty years ago, before we were born. Michael's father, Harold Diggs, was a close friend to the Talbots - Aunt Helen and Uncle Vincent - and [Harold] was often entrusted as a babysitter of our cousins Vincent, Sydney and Myra. He appears as a fixture in their home movies! I met Harold's love, Leona, in more recent days. She was a beautiful soul who will truly be missed, as witnessed by Michael's devotion and care. God's blessings to the family of Leona Diggs (Pritchard).

Dear Mike, Elisa, and Nina, I was shocked when my Mom told me about Nana Diggs' passing. You have my deepest sympathy. Mike, I know how close you were to your mother, and I can't think of you girls without seeing her indomitable spirit. To me, she was the constant. From the very first time we met, Ms. Diggs embraced me and made me feel like home. I shall always remember our happy moments together, those times hanging out at the house and taking in her sage advice. She was special. And I miss her and our time together very much. In my own times of grief and difficulty, I've looked to those moments for respite. I pray the memories can bring you some peace too. I only wish there was more that I could do to help the family heal the sorrow. Her smile, her spirit, and her goodness will remain alive in the hearts of everyone who knew her. May that be what we need. Please accept my deepest condolences, all of my love, and best wishes to you and your entire family. God Bless you. May she rest in Peace, Blessing, and Power. Love, Tanzerious
