Obituary for Kevin E. Waggett

Kevin Edward Waggett, age 65, of Falmouth, formerly of Hingham and Dorchester entered into eternal life on October 22, 2025 where he was reunited with his parents Fred and Barbara.

Kevin, affectionately known as Wags, was a very proud graduate of St. Brendan's, B.C. High, Williams College and Suffolk Law. He enjoyed playing youth hockey, basketball and running track. This would begin his lifelong obsession with all things sports, whether that was watching, reading, attending and talking with whomever would listen…mostly his stepson, Brian Blanchard.

After graduating college and while attending law school, Kevin joined his brother Freddie on the Boston Police Department where he served until his retirement in September 2017. He was very happy in retirement welcoming any and all to his Cape house that he helped build, with the help of his brother in law Tommy. He was the ultimate host and loved sharing his home and made everyone who entered feel welcomed. Kevin was most comfortable in the yard sitting and chatting for hours, beer in hand and Harley sitting by his feet. If he wasn't in his yard he might also be found at his brother Michael's house where they would spend hours together, telling stories and sharing what seemed to be their own language. Kevin loved to talk, he was a great story teller with a wonderful sense of humor.

Kevin leaves his wife Janet. Together they enjoyed twenty plus years and shared a love of music, particularly live music, Las Vegas, enjoying all things Falmouth, and most importantly their family. Kevin was the best stepdad to Lauren and Brian. Kevin felt blessed and honored to escort Lauren down the aisle on her magical wedding day in 2020 when she married Ashwin Gargeya. Kevin attended and filmed every one of Brian’s sports activities right through college; he was proud to be his person. Kevin was a huge presence and his presence will be missed by all who had the pleasure to know him.

Kevin was a beloved Gramps to Coco and Cami Gargeya. He adored them and loved it when they came to visit, which was often. With them came chaos, the best kind. The girls would say hi and run away giggling and that brought the biggest smile to his face. Kevin loved to send the girls packages in the mail, addressed to each one because he knew how much they loved seeing their names on the packages. The girls also loved Gramps steaks tips for which he was famous, he made a special point of having them whenever the girls visited.

Kevin was blessed to have many visitors these past few months, including Brian G, Tommy D and Jackie M.

We wanted to thank the host of friends and family who were always reaching out wanting to help with Kevin’s care. We had a great support system.

During these past few months Kevin would always say “thank you for everything” but it is us who want to Thank Kevin for Everything.

Kevin, you are loved.

Kevin leaves behind Janet, Lauren and Ashwin, Brian, Coco and Cami, Freddie and Ollie, Mike and Christine, Gerry, Tommy, Paul and Margaret, Taylor and Jake, Ava, Norma, Matthew, Paul T, Connor, Erin, Megan, and many other Framily members.

Any donations can be made to Animal Rescue League in the name of his beloved dog, Harley Girl who passed away last month.

Kevin and his wife Janet met me and my wife Becky at the Falmouth Elks about 6 or more years ago. Both of us being retired police officers we hit it off immediately. We became great friends and had lots of fun together. I will really miss Kevin partly because he was so smart and taught me a lot about the law and current information about everything police oriented. RIP Kevin, until we meet again. Love you Janet.
