It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Kathleen “Kay” Sweeney (nee Folan) of Clynagh, Carraroe, County Galway, Ireland and Quincy MA. Beloved mother to John (Tae), Noreen (Dave), and Joanne (Ken). Loving grandmother to Stephanie (Adrian), Alex (Amelia), Erin, Lauren and Shawn, and proud of her great-granddaughter, Allegra. Cherished sister to Mary, Bridget, Padraig, Tom, Nora, Ann, and Sarah; a life-long friend to Mary Connelly, and survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Kay was quick-witted and had a great work ethic. She was always there for a cup of tea and great conversation; she especially loved being outdoors and tending to her beautiful gardens. She adored her home and worked to make improvements inside and out and was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, neighbors and friends.

Throughout her life, she had a love for singing, music, poetry and geography. She enjoyed watching the Red Sox and golf, and loved crosswords, word searches and jigsaw puzzles.

You loved us into this world, and we loved you out of this world.

A Catholic Prayer Service will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Friday February 14th at 12:30 PM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hour prior to the service from 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery.
