Obituary for Karen Juliette Love
Karen Juliette Love, 61, of Roslindale, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully on August 20, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. Juliette faced metastatic colon cancer with remarkable grace, strength, courage, and dignity until the very end.
Born on December 22, 1964, in St. Michael, Barbados, Juliette was the beloved daughter of Vera M. Yarde Alleyne and the late Fitz Evans Alleyne.
Juliette built a life centered on family, loyalty, and love. She shared a beautiful and inseparable 26-year journey with her devoted wife, Pamela Love. Together, they created a warm home and a loving foundation for their blended family. Juliette spent her career in Procurement and Logistics, serving as a Buyer at Teradyne Inc. and later at the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA).
Juliette opened both her heart and her home to foster children, providing them with care, encouragement, and a sense of belonging. Her compassion for others extended beyond her own family. Together with her beloved wife, Karen founded Faces of Hope Advocacy Group, through which they worked to support and advocate for individuals and families in their community.
She will be remembered for her deep devotion to those she loved and for the kindness, strength, and warmth she brought to every part of her life.
Juliette is survived by her beloved wife, Pamela Love; her mother, Vera M. Yarde Alleyne; her sons, Kameel Lashley (Amber) of Franklin, MA, Pryce Love, and Kyle Love; her daughter, Janeisa Lashley (Themba) of Baltimore, MD; her stepdaughter, Shavonna Love Haamid (Ahmad) of High Point, NC; and her stepsons, Terrance Morrant Love Sr. (Kristine) of Port Richey, FL, Steven Love of Greensboro, NC, and 1st LT Clyde Love Sr. (Joanna) of Boston, MA.
She is also survived by her sister, Shonnelle Aubrey (Thomas) of Boston, MA; her brother, Rickie Alleyne (Khanyisa) of Boston, MA; and her beloved grandchildren: Musa and Mecca Mkhatshwa of Baltimore, MD; Elijah, Layla, and twins expected in December of Franklin, MA; Darian and SPEC Darius Newkirk Love of Trinity, NC; Airelle Newkirk, Aaliyah and Amir Haamid of High Point, NC; Terrance Jr. and Jaden Morrant Love of Port Richey, FL; and Aaliyah, Clyde Jr., and Kylo Love of Boston, MA. She also leaves her extended sons, Nash Ballio of Norwood, MA, and Charles Lewinsky of Canada.
Juliette’s memory will also be cherished by her nephews, Jaheem Alleyne of Los Angeles, CA, and Jonas Tucker Alleyne (Marissa) and their children, Thea and Cairo, of Missouri; her niece, Lexis Alleyne, and her daughter, Laylani Williams, of Boston; her cousins, Deborah “Dee” Moore of San Diego, CA, Richard, Warren, Vassco, Julie, Michael, and Sheena Yarde of, Canada, and Annette Corbin of Barbados; her uncle, Larry Yarde of Mississauga, Canada; and her aunts, Cora Yarde of Canada and Colleen Corbin-Worrell of Barbados.
She also leaves dear friends Patricia A. Mackey, Esq.; Ret. SGT Addison Scanterbury and Samantha Moore; Christine Elow; James “Kaarim” Elow; Ronda Martinez; Mattie Haynes; E. Denise Simmons; Mary and George Collins; William and Genie Watson; Karen and Kim Scanterbury; Kesha Brown; Sonja Tucker; David and Shanta Sampson; Renee Banks; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Juliette was preceded in death by her father, Fitz Evans Alleyne; her brothers, Desmond Branker and Chris Patrick; her uncle, Nigel Yarde; and her cousin, Paula Corbin.
Viewing will be held at the First Church in Cambridge, 11 Garden Street, Cambridge on Friday, August 28th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at Saint Michael Cemetery in Roslindale.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Key Program, Children’s Charter Trauma Clinic, in support of mental health services.
