Obituary for Karen E. (MacDonald) Boeri
Karen E. (MacDonald) Boeri of Milton passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2024 after a courageous six month battle with pancreatic cancer.
Karen was daughter to the late John and Mary MacDonald of Hyde Park. Born in Boston on November 23, 1946, raised and educated in Hyde Park and graduated from St. Clare High School in Roslindale. She then went on to study nursing at Boston City Hospital.
Beloved wife of the late Steven V. Boeri. Devoted mother to Victoria Boeri and her husband Daniel Lovett of Milton and Andrea Boeri of Boston. Loving sister to Paul MacDonald of Medfield, Mary Cafarelli and her husband Frank of Seminole FL, Edward MacDonald and his wife Mary of Canton, Ivan MacDonald and his wife Anne of Hyde Park and the late Winnifred Conroy of Halifax. Sister-in-law to Lois Salvato and the late Anthony Salvato of Medford, the late Jill and Tom Patterson of Medford, and Peter and Tricia Boeri of NY. Cherished Grammy to Grace, Julia and Anna Lovett and to Nunzio. She is also survived by many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Karen touched the lives of many people throughout her life. Her nursing career began at Boston City Hospital. She later took time off to raise her family and then returned to work for the Boston Public Schools as a school nurse for over 20 years. Karen loved singing in the St. Agatha’s Parish Choir with all her choir mates. She loved a good book, good food and going out to dinner with her many friend groups. She enjoyed cooking, going to the theater, day trips with the Milton Council of Aging & the BTU Retirees, and any type of shopping trip.
Karen always put others before herself. Her husband Steve would often say that she never had a bad word to say about anyone, which is the truth. She was extremely generous and supported many charity groups. She was passionate about supporting those in need and even delivered food to the local community fridge just weeks before her passing.
Karen loved her family and friends. She will be always remembered for her kindness, compassion, and selflessness and will be forever missed.
