Obituary for Kamari Aaron Perry
Kamari Aaron Perry, 16, of Randolph and Boston passed away July 14, 2023.
As a young boy, everyone knew Kamari Aaron Perry was a star. He was always smiling, laughing, and loving on everyone around him. As a kid, Kamari was a natural athlete and quickly gravitated toward sports. Starting Pop Warner at just seven years old, it was quickly noticed he had athletic talent. He later picked up a basketball and went on to never put it down. He played throughout middle and high school, becoming an AAU champ in 2019 with the Hyde Park Community Center.
Kamari dedicated himself to becoming the best basketball player he could be. He worked hard at practice and spent extra hours on any court he could find. His dream was to one day play for the NBA, and he was determined to make that dream a reality. His mom supported his dream effortlessly and shuttled him to every game and conference eligible to him and without any doubt, he was on his way.
Kamari was healthy, happy, and had his whole life ahead of him. Now we are left to cherish the moments we had with him, and hold those memories close to our hearts forever. We will continue to grieve Kamari for a lifetime but find peace in knowing how much he loved each and every one of us.
Kamari was preceded in death by his great grandfather Willie Battle, his great uncle Lawrence Perry, his grandmother Renee Delores Perry and his grandfather Benjamin Taylor.
Kamari is survived by his parents, Kianna Renee Battle and Geoffrey Milo Perry, his great grandparents Rose Perry and Katie Sanders, his grandmother Pearlie Ann Battle, his aunts Jacquiline Perry, Dianne Battle, Roxie Battle, Jewel Perry and Tianna Perry, his uncle Selwyn Benjamin, Dayonte Kearns, and Christopher Brady. His brother Zyarh Brown and cousins Eric Thompson, Kenneth Lopez, Talea Young, Tania Foreman, Zoie Lebron, and Devonna Baker, and a host of other loved ones and friends.
Kamari attended Chittick Elementary School Roslindale, MA, Boston Prep Charter School Hyde Park, MA and Randolph High School Randolph, MA. Achievements in the Gumpy Tank Science Fair at Chittick Elementary, 2015 Mitey Mite-RHPW 2015- Football, HPYBA League- 2018-2019 Craig Curran Division Championship, AAU 2019 Champ with Hyde Park Community Center Behind the Beast and Pop Warner with the Randolph Blue Devils. He worked at Wentworth Institute and the Gourmet Kitchen.
He enjoyed fashion, food, and videogames, but his love was for basketball, basketball, and more basketball!
Kamari Aaron Perry was loving to everyone he met, a leader in every space he showed up in, a mentor to those who admired him, funny to those who needed to smile, supportive to those that felt alone, protective to those who needed strength and a sweetheart to his girlfriend appropriately named Faith.
