Obituary for Juvencio Mascarenhas

Juvencio Nunes Varela Mascarenhas passed away on April 24, 2023. He was 56 years old.

Juvencio was born in Praia, Santiago, Cabo Verde on November 30, 1966 to Rui Valera Mascarenhas and Dorotheia Nunes Silva.

In 2002, Juvencio immigrated from Cabo Verde to the US. He soon became a Commercial Truck Driver. He was man of Christian faith who was quite devoted to the Virgin Mary and Saint Joseph.

Juvencio loved to go bike riding and watch sports during his free time. He loved soccer, his favorite team was the Benfica Portuguese team. When he wasn't cycling or watching sports, he would play his guitar or watch old western and Kung-Fu movies. The thing Juvencio probably enjoyed the most was spending time with his family during the holidays both in America and in Cabo Verde, and sharing a nice meal together

    TIO DJUBA

  • May 03, 2023

Juvencio, affectionally known as Djuba: It is with great sorrow and heavy heart to have heard and become aware of his physical passing. Although the times we've spend together - over my house, at Suzeti and Andre's house and playing indoor soccer - were few, but they were worthwhile, pleasant and gracious. Djuba was a very friendly, quite, kind, funny, and ready with his sincere smile to greet and socialize with you. Djuba un desejou 'Descanso en Paz, bu merecido Canto de Gloria', e consolason pa familiares

Djuba was loved and loved us all. For me that's enough for a good life no matter how short his life was cut short. The amount of time he was here with us will never be forgotten. I know we are not in control of our time here on earth so live with love in your heart as Djuba did! May he rest in eternal peace in the glory of the Lord.
