Joyce M. Finerty, 76 of Yarmouth and Milton, passed away May 19, 2023, surrounded by her loving family.

As the daughter of the late Rita and Francis Finerty, Joyce grew up in their Milton, Massachusetts home with her elder brother, "Bucko". She attended Fontbonne Academy, Milton and received her PA from Northeastern University, Boston. After practicing locally for a few years, Joyce embarked on her next healing chapter working in Lima, Peru with the Missionary Society of St. James the Apostle, a health clinic serving impoverished communities and with the Catholic Relief Services in Somalia and Thailand.

After returning home, Joyce moved to Denver, Colorado where she worked as a nurse at Kaiser Hospital. Within a few years, she returned to Massachusetts settling in West Roxbury with her dear friend Sheila before moving to Cape Cod. There they embarked on the entrepreneurial adventure as co-owners of the Skipper restaurant in South Yarmouth. After many successful years, they sold the Skipper. Joyce continued to work then as the bookkeeper for the Irish Village.

Beloved aunt of Kristen Finerty Child and her husband Brian of Marshfield and Sean Finerty and his wife Heather of Rockland. Loving sister-in-law of Linda C. Finerty of Rockland. She is also survived by her great nieces and nephews Madison and Patrick Child of Marshfield, Andrew Finerty of Lowell and Elyse and Ryan Finerty of Rockland. Joyce was predeceased by her parents Rita (Falvey) and Francis Finerty, Jr., her brother Francis J. “Bucko” Finerty III and dear friend Sheila Feeley.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Wednesday May 24 at 10:00 AM. Family and friend invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday May 23 from 4-7 PM. Burial Milton Cemetery.
