Mr. Joseph T. Joyce, a resident of Milton, Mass., and beloved husband of Anne (Crotty) Joyce, passed away peacefully on October 22, 2023. He was 90 years old. Joe is also survived by his dear daughters, Maura (Thomas C. Bersani), Margaret (David A. DeLuca), and Anne J. Hagberg (Charles A. Hagberg, Jr.).

Growing up in South Boston, Joe was the son of Coleman and Annie (Nee) Joyce. After graduating from South Boston High School and Boston College and serving in the United States Navy, Joe enjoyed a long career in the Boston Public Schools, retiring as principal of the John Winthrop School in 1996. Above all, Joe enjoyed being with family, especially being Dado to his five grandchildren, Domenica and Davio DeLuca, and Fiona, Maeve, and Lily Hagberg.

Joe is survived by his cherished sisters Margaret Kennedy and Barbara McMakin, and was predeceased by his siblings Coleman, Martin, Evelyn, Mary, Anna, Brigid, and Catherine. He was also the much-loved uncle of dozens of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday, October 26 at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Mary of the Hills Church, 29 St. Mary’s Road, MILTON at 11:00 am. Interment in Blue Hill Cemetery, BRAINTREE. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, October 26 at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Ave., EAST MILTON SQUARE from 9:00 – 10:30 am prior to Mass.
