John Richard Tyne of New York and Massachusetts died peacefully on November 11, 2022 at the age of 83.

John was the son of the the late Martha (Rabbitt) and the late John Tyne of New York. He was the loving husband of the late Helen (Scheidle) Tyne.

Born in Brooklyn, New York on December 11, 1938, after high school, John enlisted in the United States Navy where he proudly served on the Destroyer Escort USS Hissem, retiring from the U.S. Naval Reserve in 1962.

John worked his entire 40 year professional career on Wall Street in accounting, retiring from JP Morgan Chase in 1999.

John was known for his kind and charitable nature, by friends and extended family in both New York and Massachusetts.

He made a habit of visiting his beloved grandchildren every month and eventually relocated to Massachusetts to ensure he didn’t miss a minute with them. Despite their best attempts however, even they couldn’t convince their Paba, a life long New York sports fan, to cheer for the Red Sox.

John is survived by his son Patrick and daughter-in-law Laureen Cahalane, his granddaughter Aisling and grandson Aidan, his sister Doreen Anderson, his sister Gail Nashak and her husband Robert, and his brother-in-law Joseph Mannarino. He was a loving brother to his sister, the late Denise Mannarino, his brother-in-law the late Thomas Anderson and his brother-in-law the late George Scheidle. John was also cherished by many nieces and nephews and by the Cahalane family, who always welcomed him as one of their own.

Visiting hours will be on Wednesday, November 16th from 4-7pm at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, East Milton Square. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Saint Elizabeths Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton on Thursday, November 17th at 10:30am. Interment will be at a later date at The Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne, Massachusetts.
