Jean M. Thompson, 85, of Braintree, passed away Wednesday April 29, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Born and raised in South Boston, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Mary (Crivelli) Soucie. Jean was a graduate of the former Nazareth High School in South Boston. She retired from Blue Cross Blue Shield and had previously been employed by Prudential Financial, Inc.

Jean truly enjoyed staying active and social. Whether meeting friends at the gym—often followed by coffee—trying her luck at the slot machines, reading at Wollaston or Hingham Bathing Beach, taking rides to Plymouth for a lobster roll, shopping, or spending time with her grandchildren and their beloved pets, she embraced life fully and cherished every moment.

Beloved mother of Robert Thompson and his wife Beth of Pembroke and Karen MacDonald of Weymouth. Loving grandmother of Samantha MacDonald, Kelly Harrington (Shane), Sean MacDonald, Amy Wymond (Schafer) and Kaitlyn MacDonald and great grandmother of Nora Harrington and River MacDonald. Cherished sister of Ann Corbett and her husband Paul of Plymouth. She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Jean was predeceased by her parents Harold and Mary Soucie, her sister Maryann Smith and her longtime partner Thomas Mulvey.

A Funeral Service celebrating Jean’s life will be held at Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue, EAST MILTON SQUARE, Tuesday May 5, 2026, at 12:00 PM. Family and friends invited. A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-12. Interment Saint Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
