SLATTERY – James “Jimmy”, age 84 of South Yarmouth, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, May 12, 2023.

James was the son of the late John M. and Edna H. (Richmond) Slattery and was raised in Jamaica Plain. Predeceased by his sister Dolly. Retired from the MBTA after many years, Jimmy would spend time between Florida and Cape Cod, where he enjoyed playing golf, clam digging, and going to the beach with his family.

Loving life partner of Jean Rodday of Braintree. Devoted father of James J. Slattery of South Yarmouth, John P. Slattery and his wife Susan of Silver Springs, MD, and Cindi Ellis and her husband Richard of Norwell. Cherished grandfather of Jessica, Cole, Christian, Chad, and Brett. Also survived by many extended family and friends.

James’ family would also like to extend their deepest appreciation to the staff at South Shore Hospital – Emerson 6 for their stellar care and compassion.

Memorial visitation will be held Monday, June 12th at the Dolan Funeral Home, 460 Granite Avenue (EAST MILTON SQUARE), Milton from 11:00 – 1:00 pm, with a small prayer service at 12:00 PM.
