Obituary for Jacqueline Galvin Buckley

Jacqueline Galvin Buckley, 75, of Milton passed away September 21, 2024, with her devoted husband by her side.

Born in Boston and raised in Quincy, to the late Leo J. and Rita M. (Moakley) Galvin. Graduate of Boston College receiving a Masters in Education. Jackie had a long career as the Public Affairs Officer for the Boston Globe. An avid skier, Jackie also enjoyed knitting, travelling, and spending summers at her home on Cape Cod.

Beloved wife of Edward P. Buckley for 22 years. Loving sister of Thomas Galvin and the late Maryjane Hall. Jackie is survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Visitation Parish, Saint Elizabeth Church, 350 Reedsdale Road, Milton, Monday September 30 at 10:00 AM. Family and friends invited. Visiting hours at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, Sunday September 29 from 2-6 PM. Interment Milton Cemetery.

Jackie and Ed’s faith and trust in God was the cornerstone of their dedication and love for one another.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jackie’s name may be made to: Anawim Fund, 1382 Highland Avenue, Needham, MA 02492. Dear friend Fr. Michael Ssenfuma’s ministry of raising awareness and funding to support building schools and to feed the vulnerable people of Uganda.
