Obituary for Guy Targete

Guy Targete passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 6, 2023.

He was born to Marie Therese Kebreau & Louis Targete in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, on September 20, 1949.

Beloved husband of Delone Patricia (Senior) Targete, dear father of Emmanuel Guy Targete Jr. and his wife Camille, Patrick Targete and his wife Sabriya, Seth Lance Reginald Targete, Vanessa Targete Duguerre, and her husband Karl. Dear brother of Erla Targete Francoise (predeceased), Marie Michele Targete Vaval, Jacques Targete, Francoise Joseph, Marie Louise Saintvil.

Guy is the devoted grandfather of Emmanuel Guy Targete Ill, Julian Zavier Targete, Briyana Evelyn Targete, London Targete, Tasneem Lieke Maelle Targete, Karl Mackenzie Duguerre Jr., Asim Seiko Eshan Targete and Kendall Patrice Duguerre. He is also survived by his adopted grandchildren, Stanley and Stephane Stace, many nieces, nephews and extended family.

After arriving in the United States in July 1968, he worked in construction. After many years honing his skills, he moved on to work with his children. In his spare time, he enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends and family, who will always fondly remember him as the "life of the party."

Visitation will be held at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish, 1548 Blue Hill Avenue, Mattapan, on Saturday, December 16th, from 9-11 AM. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11 AM. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment is private.

    So Sorry for our loss. This Good Guy, Gee as I would call him was a member of our family. He helped us through so much. Whether it was keeping my mom company as the body guard he called my son Vernell hung out with them in the yard as she baby sat. The years go bye and Vernell is 21. Guy would come over and help us with anything we needed in both houses. He took on my son Bobby when he was in need of a mentor and shared Seth with us to put Bobby to work. My mom needs water, he is there, the water heater broke, he is there, my mom had surgery and medical complications, he is there. I would call him on his cell and he always answers. If I text he reminds me that he is old school and does not do that writing. He embraced us as his family and we loved him. He will be missed as he often came bye the house in Randolph to visit and help out! El hombre es un Angel!
