Gloria“Ma”was born on December 9th in 1930 in Charleston, South Carolina. She was born to Julius Julia Fairchild, Sherld and Alma Motte. Gloria completed her early education in the Charleston South Carolina public schools. In the early 50s upon completion of school, She and her elder sister, Julia Belle Cheryl relocated to Boston, Massachusetts where she lived and resided until her passing. Gloria was a loving and caring mother, sister, aunt, cousin, grandma, great grandma, and great great grandma. She was an extremely hard-working and determined woman that devoted herself to her children and family. Gloria worked at Mattapan Community Healthcare Center in Management, displaying a wonderful knack for solving problems. She worked for over 20 years until retirement.After retirement Gloria continued her love for nursing by supporting the elderly at Winter Valley, the assisted living home where lived for over 20 years. Gloria truly lived life to the fullest through

simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, snacking, and spending time with her family. Gloria had an uncanny

ability to reach people in a deep and positive way. Gloria was preceded by her husband Otis Bush, her sister, Julia Belle, and brother Julius Sherald. She was also preceded by her son, William Francis, Nelson, her grandson, Brian Nelson and her granddaughter Ebony Jones. She is survived by her children, Lois Almeida , David Nelson , James Nelson, Judy Nelson, Lonnie Nelson, Kimberly Nelson, a score of grand‘s, great grands and great great grands too many even to try to mention, but they were all in her heart and very close to her heart. Gloria was also a devout Jehovah’s Witness for many years and lived her life as a servant of Jehovah.

Funeral Service Saturday, December 9, 2023 in the Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington Street, DORCHESTER LOWER MILLS, at 3 o'clock. Visiting Hour 2-3 pm. Interment Private.
