Obituary for Franciscia Kay Henry
Franciscia Henry, lovingly known as Kay or Kickit, was born on June 10, 1942, in Marac, Trinidad, West Indies. She departed this life peacefully on August 29, 2025, in Boston, Massachusetts, surrounded by her devoted family.
Kay was the beloved wife of the late Alwyn Henry and the cherished daughter of Edward and Victoria Guerero, all of whom preceded her in death. The seventh of eight children, she is now at peace, reunited with her husband, her parents, and the siblings who went before her.
Her memory lives on through her children: Michelle Creese, Marcia Evans, Sheldon Henry, Shurland Henry, Sherwin Henry, and Alwyn Henry Jr.; and her children-in-law: Maggie Henry, David Evans, Georgina Henry, and Candice Henry. Her greatest pride and joy were her grandchildren: Michael, Daniel, Marquise, Deleyah, Dacia, David Jr., Shane, Shemica, Shurmar, Sheldon Jr., Kyle, Keisean, Kelsey, Zara, Jhaheem, Sernicko, Tyriel, and Tyrek. She was also a beloved aunt to many nieces and nephews across the United States, Trinidad, and beyond, and a lifelong friend to Ernestina Skeete.
In 1984, she moved to Boston, where she established her home and laid the foundation for future generations. Always putting God first and trusting Him to guide her steps, Kay lived a life rooted in faith and will be remembered for her kindness, dignity, generosity, and wisdom. She also found joy in life’s simple blessings, whether spending time with her children and grandchildren, sharing heartfelt conversations late into the night, or enjoying her favorite soap operas. Her laughter and warm embrace brought light to every gathering.
To know Kay was to experience her radiant smile, her open arms, and her unwavering love. She often said she had lived a happy life and that God had blessed her with all she had hoped for. Her family takes comfort in knowing she is now free, at peace, and resting in eternal joy. Kay’s legacy of love, faith, and devotion will continue to inspire and guide generations to come.
Visitation will be held at the Twelfth Baptist Church, 160 Warren Street, Roxbury on Friday, September 12th from 10-11AM. Funeral Service to begin at 11AM. Interment at Cedar Grove Cemetery. Relatives and friends invited.
