Obituary for Florence H. Barry

Florence McCabe Barry, 91, of Milton, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, devotion, and family.

Born on November 29, 1934, and raised in South Boston, Florence carried the spirit and pride of her hometown with her throughout her life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Paul Barry, in 1992. After his passing, Florence dedicated herself wholeheartedly to her family, becoming the heart and foundation for her children and grandchildren.

Florence was a devoted mother to her four children Rhonda Donahue, Paul Barry, Todd Barry, Jill Dolgoff and their spouses. She was also a proud and loving grandmother to her thirteen grandchildren, all of whom were the center of her world. Her home was always filled with warmth, laughter, and unwavering support.

She shared a special and unbreakable bond with her twin sister, Dorothy, who was not only family but her lifelong best friend. Together, they created a lifetime of cherished memories.

Florence found great joy in the simple pleasures of life. She was a loyal Boston sports fan, especially devoted to the Red Sox, rarely missing a game. She loved spending time on Cape Cod, where the ocean air and a plate of fried clams brought her happiness.

Florence will be remembered for her strength, her deep love for family, and her kind and steady presence in the lives of all who knew her. She leaves behind a family who will carry her memory forward with love and gratitude.

A private burial service will be held at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.

In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Sherrill house in Boston at www.sherrillhouse.org, where Florence received compassionate care during her final days.

Todd, Paul, Rhonda and Jill so sorry for your loss. Some of my first and best memories as a child involved the Barry/Baker clan led by co-Matriarchs Flo and Dot. Flo gave her kindness , class, style and great sense of humor to her children who I am sure have passed it down to her grandchildren. Job well done Mrs Barry you aced the test of life!
