Obituary for Fern Truax

TRUAX – Fern, age 73 of Weymouth formerly of Holbrook, passed away on Saturday, March 1, 2025.

Fern worked in the pharmacy department of South Shore Hospital for 40 years. She loved the Boston Red Sox, Dunkin Donuts, jazz music and cats. She will be remembered for her great generosity and sense of humor.

Beloved daughter of the late Paul and Ann (Princevalli) Truax. Devoted sister of Craig Truax and his wife Maureen of Milton. Cherished aunt of Maryanne Cartier and her husband Christopher of Milton and Carolyn Holbrook and her husband Dylan of Stoughton. Adoring great-aunt of Miles Cartier.

Memorial visitation will be held Saturday, March 8th at Dolan Funeral Home, 1140 Washington St., DORCHESTER-LOWER MILLS from 11:00 - 12:00 pm, with a Memorial Service at 12:00 pm. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Fairmont Cemetery – WEMOUTH.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Fern may be made to the Hellenic Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021 ~ www.hellenicnursingandrehabilitationcenter.org

    Decades of wonderful memories of our sweet Fern. I met her in the early 80's when we both worked in the Pharmacy at South Shore Hospital. I hadn't seen her in quite some time but I will always remember her for knowing the fun places to be, like Jazz Sunday's at Hajjar's or a ghost tour, a dinner with some Revolutionary War heroes, plays featuring her brother and nieces. Rest sweetly my dear friend. My deepest condolences to all who loved her
